About us
Approved Dog Walkers
The Fast and the Furriest is not simply a dog walking service but can also support you to overcome difficulties you may be experiencing with your dog’s behaviour, such as recall, lead pulling and socialisation.
I am one, of just a handful, of dog walkers who hold Dundee City Council’s Approved Dog Walkers validation, meaning I must adhere to best practice in the profession. The council stipulate that group dog walks must only ever be with a maximum number of 6 dogs at any one time – this is something which I completely endorse. I am passionate that your dog receives my fullest attention, and my key focus is their enjoyment and exercise.
My credentials have been verified to the council’s standards, therefore, you have complete peace of mind that these are scrutinised regularly. This includes: having comprehensive business insurance; training in canine first aid and being in full control of dogs in my care. In addition to the standards set by the council, I also have a full clean PVG/Disclosure membership and am working towards accreditation with the professional body, the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers.
On a personal front, I have 20 plus years’ experience of living with, and training, abandoned and rescued dogs – an interesting mixture of sizes, ages and backgrounds. Currently I have 4 dogs, or VIPs (very important pups), Reggie our now 15 year old Irish Wolfhound cross who was rescued from Brown Street Kennels in Dundee; Gemma and Lucy age 13 and 5 from Staffie Smiles Rescue; and little Eric, a Romanian street stray, who we raised funds for to bring him to Scotland to live with us. My dogs are featured on my van artwork so they are within me in spirit wherever I go.
I have experience and knowledge, both lived and learned, which I can support you and your VIP with.
I offer a very competitive pricing structure, with the first dog walk free, as well as a full meet and greet with you and your VIP in your own surroundings.
